I'd like to construct a fence on my property. How high can it be?
Fences, hedges, or other screening plantings shall not exceed three and one-half feet in height if located within a front yard or on the street side of a corner lot. In all other locations (side or rear yards not abutting a street) fences and walls may not exceed six feet in height, solid, with an allowance for one additional foot of trellis if agreed to by abutting property owners. Fences and walls in excess of these height limits are subject to fence height exception approval by the Zoning Administrator.Fence Height Exception P:rocedures Handout
