How do I report a street light that needs to be repaired?: Contact the Larkspur Public Works Department at (415) 927-5017 or submit your request online using our "report an issue" link. Please be prepared with the street light pole ID number, which is located approximately 10 feet from the base of the pole and usually ends in the letter F. If a street light pole ID number is not identifiable, please provide an adjacent address. Street lights are normally repaired within five business days (or less) of the time the request was submitted for repair

1. Where can I get sand bags?: There are 2 self-serve locations where the City provides sand and empty bags. Be sure to bring your own shovel.
1) Piper Park parking lot at 250 Doherty Drive
2) Pump Station at Diane Lane & Midway Road

2. What should I do before I start a home or business project?: Call 8-1-1 before you dig. At least two days before you dig you must call this number. The Call Center provides a free service for homeowners, excavators and professional contractors. When you call 811, a utility representative will locate and mark underground utility lines, so you can dig, landscape, plant, trench or grade safely. Call 811 before you dig

4. Who Do I Call for A Dead Animal?: The City of Larkspur does not handle the pick-up of dead animal in the roadways and parks. You will need to call the Marin Humane Society Animal Services at 415-883-4621 (Ext 1). They will handle animal emergencies 24-hours a day.

5. When is my street scheduled to be swept?: The City of Larkspur provides street sweeping to each city-maintained street on a monthly basis. The streets are swept twice a month from October through January Our street sweeping is contracted to Marin Sanitary Services (415) 456-2601.

6. Who is responsible for cleaning the catch basins in the street in front of my home?: The City cleans about two-thirds of the catch basins annually on a set schedule. If a catch basin is full or is not draining after a rain event it may have been covered with leaves or road debris and need to be removed from the grate. It is greatly appreciated if citizens rake the material off the catch basin into the street. If the catch basin is not blocked and is not draining, please call the Larkspur Public Works Office at (415) 927-5017.
