[ARCHIVED] New Digital Resources for Job Hunting and Learning New Skills

The Larkspur Library with the support from The Commons Foundation was able to add two new databases to our virtual library, AtoZDatabase and Gale Presents Udemy.


AtoZdatabases is the Premier Job Search, Reference & Mailing List Database including 30 million business & executive profiles & 240 million residents. Ideal for sales leads, mailing lists, market research, employment opportunities, finding friends and relatives, and much more!

Search for jobs by zip code or by description.  In the Career Resources tab, you will discover how to prepare for an interview, freshen up your resume, and review your own skills.

AtoZdatabases also offers weekly webinars that you can sign up for three times a week to learn how to use the database, you can find this under the Reference Desk Tab in the AtoZU Training Center. For quick intros click on the Intro Videos tab to watch short clips on the different features in the database.

The AtoZdatabase is also a great resource if you’re starting a small business, searching for a medical professional, or just trying to track down an old friend.   Keep an eye on our calendar for a workshop coming soon.

Gale Presents Udemy

Gale Presents: Udemy is an online learning platform for adults who want to improve work-related skills or further develop a personal interest. Users can search through more than 4,000 continuously updated, on-demand video courses across 75 categories in business, technology, design, and more. All courses are taught by world-class instructors and offer a tailor-made learning experience for those who want to learn new technologies and skills to stay competitive in a changing workforce.

Wanting to learn new skills for the digital world, from Cloud Computing to IT Operations.  Gale Presents Udemy covers a lot of the basics to from Sales to Management courses.  There is even a section for Hobbies, learn new photography skills, entrepreneurship, and even language courses.

Once you sign-in to Gale Presents Udemy with your library card, you will need to create an account using a Google or Microsoft email, this way you can pick up where you left off.  You can also install the Udemy for Business on your smart device to access your library account.  Find the app in your favorite app store.
