[ARCHIVED] November 6th - Change your Clock and change your Smoke Detector Batteries!

As important, this is the time to change the 9-volt batteries in your smoke detectors. Even if you don't hear the "chirp" associated with a low-battery warning, it's just good practice to change the batteries so that you are assured your smoke detectors function properly, should a fire occur in your residence.

While you're up there, take the vacuum cleaner hose and gently vacuum around the unit to remove any dust. Before you finish up, press the "test" button, to make sure the audible warning feature of the alarm is working properly.
