Notice of Election

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that a General Municipal Election will be held in the Cityof Larkspur on Tuesday, November 5, 2019, for the purpose of electing two (2) members to the City Council of the City of Larkspur, each to serve for the full term of five (5) years.

The nomination period opens Monday, July 15, 2019 and runs through Friday, August 9, 2019. The filing period will be extended to Wednesday, August 14, 2019, for nonincumbent filers only, if an incumbent does not file by the August 9, 2019 deadline.

Candidates for City Council must be a resident of Larkspur, at least 18 years of age and a registered voter in the City of Larkspur at the time nomination papers are issued.

Beginning on July 15, 2019, nomination papers are available in the Administrative Office at City Hall from Shannon O’Hare, Acting City Clerk, during regular business hours, Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. - Noon, and 1:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. Please call (415) 927- 5002 for more information and to make an appointment to meet with the Acting City Clerk to pick up the nomination packet.

If no one or only one person is nominated for an elective office, appointment to the elective office may be made as prescribed by Section 10229 of the Election Code of the State of California.

The polls will be open between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday,

November 5, 2019. Pursuant to the California Elections Code Section 12109, all ballots, including absentee ballots, shall be counted at the Marin Civic Center, Hall of Justice, Room 121, and not at the individual precincts.
