[ARCHIVED] California Coastal Cleanup Day is Coming!

This is the state's largest annual volunteer event! Come together to celebrate and share in the appreciation of California's fabulous coast and waterways. Please join us on September 15, 2018 from 9AM to Noon.

Every year, on the third Saturday of September, volunteers all over the world converge on beaches, shorelines and inland waterways to pick up trash and remove dangerous debris.  Considered the largest marine-related volunteer event in the world, Coastal Cleanup Day is a wonderful opportunity to lend a hand and make a significant difference.

In 2017, more than 40 clean-up sites in Marin County were in need of volunteer assistance.  It’s easy to participate – just check out the interactive map below to find a cleanup site near you.  Help us reduce waste on Coastal Cleanup Day by bringing a bucket or reusable bag and reusable gloves for the Cleanup. The Site Captains at your cleanup will have also supplies on hand.

All Marin County Coastal Cleanup Day volunteers are invited to a free BBQ immediately following the event at the Bay Model Visitor Center in Sausalito from noon to 2 pm, sponsored by the Sausalito Lions Club and the Bay Model Alliance.  Door prizes and fun!
