[ARCHIVED] BayWAVE Sea Level Rise Vulnerability Assessment

The County of Marin has completed a draft Sea Level Rise Vulnerability Assessment for public review here: www.MarinSLR.org. The study concludes a nearly two-year process involving all agencies, special districts, and utilities that share eastern Marin shoreline. The County is planning to hold three public meetings in April to explain how the assessment is formatted, some preliminary results, and to play the Game of Floods to communicate the challenges of the task ahead.

These are the following dates and locations for the meeting:

  • Wednesday, April 19th from 7-9 p.m. at the Al Boro Community Center at Pickleweed Park in San Rafael
  • Tuesday, April 25th from 7-9 p.m. at the Mill Valley Community Center
  • Saturday, April 29th from 10-12 noon at Novato City Hall

Understanding likely scenarios for sea level rise and areas of greatest vulnerability will help inform future efforts to adapt to these changing conditions. For more information on this important project you can visit the www.MarinSLR.org website.
