Join us on Saturday, September 10th at 11:00 AM for a talk about how Mountain lion sightings are becoming more common in the Bay Area. What does that mean for us here in the North Bay? The Mountain Lion Project is a community-based research and education program in Sonoma and Napa counties under the auspices of Audubon Canyon Ranch. Its cutting edge research will give us a better understand of mountain lion ecology, and assist regional conservation efforts. Dr. Martins is the lead researcher on the Mountain Lion Project, and a Wildlife Ecologist at Sonoma’s Bouverie Preserve, will be here to discuss his research, and what we are learning about the mountain lion and its habitat.
Quinton Martins, Ph.D., Wildlife Ecologist at Bouverie Preserve, is the lead researcher on the ACR Mountain Lion Project. He has over 20 years of field experience having worked in wilderness areas throughout much of Africa, Saudi Arabia and the USA. He completed his Ph.D. through the University of Bristol, U.K. in 2010 and is considered the world’s leading expert on Cape mountain leopards and a skilled predator trapper.
