[ARCHIVED] Closure of Pixley and Redwood East of Willow During 4th of July Events

Dear Resident:

Once again, during this year's Fourth of July celebration I plan to close access to Pixley and lower Redwood to all except residents. However, arts and crafts people will be allowed to enter for the purpose of parking in Town Park in the area of the tennis courts.

Again, the reason I am restricting access on these streets is to reduce congestion, physical conflict, and other problems associated with past festivities which have occurred in your neighborhood. Street access will be restricted from approximately 8:00 a.m. until about 5:00 p.m. July Fourth. If residents wish to pass through the road blocks at any time during the restriction (not passable at Tamalpais and Pixley during the parade, as before) they will be asked to produce proof of residency. If you plan to have guests on the Fourth of July it is recommended they arrive before 8:00 a.m., after 5:00 p.m., or arrange to park elsewhere.

I personally apologize for any inconvenience this restriction may cause you, your family or friends, but it is critical to close access to your neighborhood for your safety and the protection of property.

We are doing everything within our legal power to again ensure a safe and sane Fourth of July in 2012.

In conclusion, if you have any comments or concerns about this preventive measure please do not hesitate to contact Traffic Sergeant Paul Barrolaza.

Sincerely yours,

Todd Cusimano
