Frida Kahlo: Appearances Can Be Deceiving

Friday, August 14, 2020

The Larkspur Library is excited to bring you a talk on Frida Khalo with speaker Christina Crosby from the DeYoung Museum Docent Program. Art Docent on Frida Kahlo: Appearances Can Be Deceiving, an exhibit at the DeYoung Museum from March 21 -July 26, 2020. Frida Kahlo returns to San Francisco 90 years after her first visit to the city, in an exhibition examining how politics, gender, trauma, sexuality, and national identity influenced her diverse modes of creativity. The exhibition paints an intimate portrait of the artist through a trove of personal items, which came to light in her lifelong home in Mexico City decades after her passing. This event was originally schedule for March and now is coming to us via Zoom and was made possible by the Friends of the Larkspur Library.
