Wildcare's Animal Ambassadors

Thursday, August 13, 2020

"Ever wonder how far an owl can turn its head? Or if opossums hang upside down by their tail? Or what do snakes eat? Find out the answers to these questions and much more about these species by attending a special presentation featuring the wildlife ambassadors of WildCare. In this virtual presentation you will meet Sequoia (Northern Spotted Owl), Luna (Virginia Opossum), and Rosie (Rosy Boa). Through a series of short videos and PowerPoint slides you will learn about their habitat, diet, adaptations, and threats that they face in the wild. Melissa Tofflemoyer is the Wildlife Ambassador Program Manager at WildCare. She has a Bachelors degree in Environmental Science with a concentration in Fish & Wildlife Management. She is the Wildcare Ambassador program manager, and responsible for the husbandry and training of 19 wildlife ambassadors." This online event was made possible by the Friends of the Larkspur Library.
